Trauma Informed
My goal is to provide a safe, confidential, and judgment-free environment for you to be vulnerable . We will explore together the strength you are already have to create a new story of resiliency in the face of traumatic experiences.
Recognizing resiliency and strength is not easy, and neither is recognizing that we need “a little help” - wherever you are at in addressing that trauma, we will collaborate to develop steps to get through that trauma together.
My approach is to center your needs while recognizing that you may have experienced stigma, marginalization, and barriers to mental health.

EMDR
Eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence based form of psychotherapy designed to treat traumatic memories while reducing negative emotions, anxiety, and other reactions from traumatic events.
The American Psychiatric Association, the American Psychological Association, National Alliance on Mental Illness, the U.S. Dept. of Veterans Affairs/Dept. of Defense, and the World Health Organization among many other national and international organizations recognize EMDR therapy as an effective treatment.

LGBTQIA+ Affirmative
We will work in treatment from an intersectional approach which reflects on your experience as member of the LGBTQIA+ community and/or identity. By recognizing that there are systems of both institutionalized and internalized homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, and heterosexism that influence our lives, we can better address the barriers we face and symptoms we have. Through working collaboratively with you we will develop tools to empower you to live as your authentic self!
