Frequently Asked Questions

What do we talk about during our phone consultation?

During your initial call we will talk about:

  • Reasons you are seeking therapy at this time

  • If you have had therapy in the past/How you felt about past therapy

  • What your goals are for therapy

  • Explain the process of setting up your first appointment

  • Answer questions regarding fees and scheduling

  • Discuss my three session initial assessment process

How long is an appointment? How long will I need therapy?

Sessions are 50 minutes long. Longer sessions are offered at a separate rate.

The amount of therapy sessions is largely dependent on the individual as everyone has different goals and unique challenges.

Are sessions in person or via telehealth?

I currently do not currently provide in-person sessions at this time. All sessions are conducted via a HIPAA compliant telehealth platform.

Please note you must currently reside in California to qualify for therapeutic services. I cannot accommodate other locations or states outside CA at this time.

What are your fees? Do you offer sliding scale services?

I offer all therapy sessions at $165 per 50 minute session. Sliding scale sessions may be available based on the service you are seeking and my availability.

What happens in the first 4 sessions? What if we aren’t a good therapeutic fit?

During your initial four sessions, we will discuss your challenges and various therapeutic needs. If you or I determine that the challenges are not within my scope of practice, I will provide you with referrals that better suit your needs.

Do you take insurance?

I am currently only paneled with Aetna, Change Healthcare (Aetna EFT), Beacon Health Options/Carelon, UnitedHealthcare UHC, Cigna & Optum at this time.

Payment is made by the client at the time of the session, and if you choose, I can provide you with a “super bill” to give your insurance. Insurance providers may reimburse you a percentage of the session cost. Insurance plan coverage varies widely, so please check with your provider via phone or online for specific coverage and rates of reimbursement.

What is a “Good Faith Estimate”?

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.

For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.

What is your cancellation policy?

  • You are responsible for any session(s) you do not provide at least 24 hours notice of cancellation. Each late cancelation or no show appointment is subject to an $100.00 fee.

  • Please note if you arrive late to your session, your session will still end at the originally anticipated time. You will not be able to make up that time and session cost will remain the same.

  • You are given a 15 minute grace period. If you are more than 15 minutes late to your session, I have the discretion to cancel session and you will be charged for no show or late cancelation.

  • Please note there will be times I may have a crisis or emergency. I ask for flexibility regarding such challenges as unprecedented events due occur.

  • Please be aware that from time to time I may run behind on sessions. Please allow for a small cushion of time in the event of delays.
